R&D Finance is a highly valued partner focused on the Research and Preclinical cost centers straddling the line between finance, operations, and science to provide real-time analysis and financial decision support to our various R&D stakeholders. The Senior Financial Analyst, R&D Finance reports into the Manager, R&D Finance and will support the Research organization in financial and business planning analysis and reporting. This position will be responsible for forecasting FTEs, operating expense, and IT projects/expenses for their respective cost centers and will manage the capital equipment cash forecast across R&D.


Manage cash forecast of capital expenditures

Manage approvals of capital equipment in TRIRIGA and work closely with scientists and facilities asset management as items are ordered

Develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for specific cost centers

Monitor and analyze trends in expenses and FTEs across multiple programs and cost centers

Provide relevant and accurate reporting and analysis of quarterly or monthly actuals spend

Prepare quarter end accruals

Prepare financial analysis in support of ad hoc requests and projects

Serve as a liaison between Finance and R&D

Help maintain both the operational and financial forecast

Help create presentations for senior management

Experience with Hyperion is a plus.

Experience with TRIRIGA is a plus.

Experience with risk adjustments is a plus.

Advanced Excel skills needed to manipulate raw data and provide meaningful analysis (Vlookup, Pivot tables, IF statements, macros).

Technical expertise in finance, budgeting, and forecasting is a plus.

Knowledge of automated systems for estimating, budgeting, forecasting, monitoring, planning, and allocating resources is a plus.

Required to produce accurate and timely financial budgets, forecasts, actuals, and variance analysis under tight deadlines

Strong understanding of the Biotech/Pharma industry is a plus.

Bachelor's degree required ideally in a quantitative or scientific discipline.

Minimum Years of Experience: Requires BS/BA in related field with 3+ years of relevant experience or MBA with 1+ years of relevant experience.
