Within a dynamic startup environment the successful candidate, under direction of the Laboratory Supervisor, will help grow the sequencing services laboratory. You will participate in the daily activities of the laboratory in order to effectively maximize turnaround time, equipment, and material utilization within budgetary constraints while adhering to quality technical standards. You will provide direct hands on operation of next generation sequencing equipment and create sequencing libraries from customer samples. You will also maintain stocks, assure instrument scheduled maintenance and activity reporting. You will also help validate new protocols and test new applications before full deployment into operations.

We have Multiple openings for swing and day shifts that include one weekend day (Tues - Sat or Sun - Thurs)  


  • Participates in hands-on fashion to the daily lab activities: Quality control of samples, library preparation (DNA and RNA samples) and next generation DNA sequencing
  • Participates in the creation and updating of departmental standard operating procedures and database to accurately reflect the current practices
  • Procures appropriate supplies and equipment to maximize department efficiency and meet established budgetary and quality goals
  • Devotes time to direct specimen testing/troubleshooting as needed to maintain adequate workflow
  • Uses effective two-way communication and participating in general laboratory meetings
  • Supports and ensure compliance with all department and company policies and procedures
  • Performs other tasks as specified by the Manager
  • Extract DNA and RNA from different type of samples (fixated tissues, blood, saliva and more)

Education and Experience

  • BA/BS in a biological discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years laboratory experience as a laboratory technician
  • Experience with lab automation systems is a plus
  • Must have working knowledge of techniques for manipulation of RNA and DNA
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Knowledge of genomics is preferable
  • Desire to learn new skills and grow his/her knowledge of next generation sequencing technologies
  • Strong desire to work in a demanding, high-energy, hands-on startup environment
