An Associate Business Systems Consultant (Associate BSC) is a general IT analyst capable of filling a broad set of roles on moderate to complex systems analysis and design projects. At this level, the incumbent has developed advanced knowledge, analytical talents and will have developed strong consulting skills in a sub-specialty area that is required for complex systems projects.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

BUSINESS ANALYST

  • Provides business systems analyst services for the Enterprise Data Operations. Able to independently perform all of the pre-launch phase-gate activities including proposal generation, concept definition, feasibility assessment, and high-level project planning for complex departmental programs.
  • Develops deep knowledge and understanding of the business. Establishes strong customer relationships. Manage client relationships and drive customer satisfaction
  • Analyzes complex departmental business problems that may involve high degrees of ambiguity/uncertainty, political considerations, and change resistance. Develops and drives consensus around problems and solutions.
  • Provides specialized business process analysis services to a variety of complex technology-enabled business change projects across multiple functional areas.
  • Documents current state business processes; designs improved and technology-enabled future state business processes; and facilitates iterative design sessions with users.
  • Provides specialized data analysis and design services to a variety of complex Big Data related technology projects across multiple functional areas
  • Analyzes user requirements, logical data models, and business process models; facilitates joint application design sessions among business and IT and creates design consensus
  • Lead small teams of business and IT staff to meet agreed time and budget commitments

  • Errors or failure to achieve expected results may result in failure of major system projects


  • Prior IT experience as a Sr. Business Systems Analyst or other role that enables the incumbent to acquire the skills expected of an Associate Business System Analyst
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred or 5-8 years related work experience
