The Finance Manager drives all aspects of the financial planning (Plan, LBEs and LRP) and actual reporting processes for the Strategy & Architecture, Security and DHQ organizations within Business Technology Solutions (BTS). The Sr. Finance Manager will interact with multiple Finance and Business stakeholders to provide financial guidance, analysis of actuals vs. benchmark and business decision support. Also, a significant component of this position will be dedicated to serving as the primary finance lead in driving IT Financial Management best practices/programs and Transformation savings programs across the BTS organization.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Drive monthly LBEs, Update, Plan and LRP, including P&L, headcount, balance sheet, expense and capital for the Strategy & Architecture, Security and DHQ organizations within BTS
  • Manage monthly LBEs, Update, Plan and LRP including P&L, headcount and balance sheet using planning systems and incorporates review changes of both financial and operational management
  • Interact with all levels of management including BTS VPs, Directors, and Managers, BTS FP&A and Accounting COE
  • Provides management with clear insights into drivers of business and financial performance and risk; assesses business/market opportunities and informs/recommends prioritization decisions
  • Lead Ad-hoc analysis to allow BTS to realize Transformation savings initiatives and achieve Spend Management tasks
  • Analyze monthly actual financials including comparisons against Plan/Update/LBEs to highlight risks and opportunities
  • Prepare key management reports (including monthly actuals) emphasizing historical results, budgets, forecasts and trends
  • Responsible for the control, planning, reporting and analysis of all BTS-funded capital projects including actuals, Plan, LRP, Update and monthly Governance reviews
  • Support BTS PMO in analysis, as appropriate, of all IT projects across AbbVie
  • Serve as primary finance lead in supporting BTS Controller in developing a view of IT Financial Management best practices and driving projects and programs to implement key strategic changes
  • Serve as collaborative business partner to the supported areas and help to identify and drive process development and improvements within the organization
  • Manage two direct reports

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA and/or MBA a plus
  • 6-8 years finance/ accounting experience
  • Strong financial, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proficient Excel skills required
  • Knowledge of TM1, SAP and HFM
  • Manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly to change to achieve required timeline
