We are seeking a talented scientist to join our Analytics Innovation team in the Immuno-Oncology Translational Bioinformatics group. Our vision is to significantly improve our understanding of tumor biology and mechanisms of immunotherapy by analyzing internal clinical trial datasets, external datasets, and emerging data types. We collaborate closely with other teams in Translational Medicine to advance Bristol-Myers Squibb's industry-leading pipeline in Immuno-Oncology through the strategic application of cutting-edge bioinformatics approaches. Some example projects include:
  • Evaluating associations between novel genomic biomarkers and response to therapy across multiple internal and external datasets
  • Developing composite biomarkers that combine biomarker data from multiple sources into a clinically-relevant score or classifier
  • Assessing and developing new methodologies to analyze emerging biomarkers (e.g., neoantigen prediction, TCR sequencing, metabolomics)

  • Define and execute analysis plans to address scientific questions using internal and external datasets (including: RNA-seq, whole exome sequencing, single-cell sequencing, proteomics, multicolor flow cytometry, and immunohistochemistry)
  • Communicate results to key stakeholders and contribute to scientific publications
  • Identify and promote new computational methods within BMS
  • Lead projects with external collaborators

  • Ph.D. in bioinformatics, engineering, statistics, molecular biology, genetics, or similar with 5+ years of industry experience
  • Broad experience translating high-dimensional molecular datasets into actionable insights
  • Experience with statistical modeling and machine learning
  • Solid knowledge of cancer biology or immunology and a desire to continually learn more
  • Fluency with Linux-based high-performance computing environments, R/Bioconductor or Python, and reproducible research practices
  • Experience with clinical trial data analysis is a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including an ability to explain complex ideas to computational scientists, experimentalists, and clinicians
  • The ability to work across organizations to define and solve problems that will benefit the whole. Capable of establishing strong working relationships across the organization
  • Strong publication record
