Summary
The Therapeutic Proteins Department is seeking a PhD level Staff Scientist to join our Bioanalytical & Biomarker Technology group. The position will support our innovative antibody discovery platform and be responsible for developing analytical methods for determining the structure and post-translational modification of antibodies/proteins using mass spectrometry and quantitative proteomics. The ideal candidate will have an extensive knowledge of state-of-the-art mass spectrometry techniques, thrive in a team environment and be highly motivated by the opportunity to play a key role in the discovery of new therapeutics.

Responsibilities
Provides expert leadership to projects requiring the proteomic characterization of therapeutic antibodies and proteins using mass spectrometry;

Designs and conducts analytical experiments on therapeutic proteins and analyzes mass spectrometry data to elucidate the attributes of therapeutic protein candidates and/or products;

Documents experiments, results and findings in laboratory notebook; presents work at the group and department meetings; is a primary contributor in the writing of technical reports, SOPs, and analytical method protocols, etc;

Organizes data in a quality presentation form (graphs, figures, tables, etc.) to support regulatory submissions and peer-reviewed publications;

Stays current with state-of-the-art mass spectrometry technologies and assess potential application for these technologies toward our antibody discovery and characterization platforms

Requirements
PhD in analytical chemistry, proteomics, or related field;

Minimum of 4 years of post-graduate experience applying mass spectrometry and proteomics to the characterization of proteins, especially in the areas of quantitative proteomics, protein post-translational modification analysis, protein-protein-interaction analysis;

Strong organization, communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills;

Enjoys and thrives working in a collaborative, team environment;

Passion for learning, developing and implementing new technologies to advance therapeutic antibody discovery

Additional, highly desirable qualifications
Experience in applying mass spectrometry techniques to support therapeutic antibody development;

Knowledge of structural biology
