Through application of scientific training and relevant experience, the individual will be responsible for working with a team of scientists to develop phase-appropriate analytical control strategy in the development of new methods for therapeutic proteins, enzymes and biopharmaceutical candidates.
  • Design analytical studies to establish a detailed understanding of bio- and physicochemical properties of the drug candidate
  • Leads in the development of new enzymatic methods and analytical procedures for therapeutic proteins and biopharmaceuticals for variety of targets in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Able to apply chemistry concepts in designing novel chemistries for potency/titers determination of biomolecules like proteins and antibodies.
  • Proven experience in writing and reviewing protocols for various studies and method validation and transfer to global sites.
  • Support analysis of research samples including potency, stability testing and from clinical trials.
  • Manage additional projects within the US and internationally (e.g. analytical technology transfer, stability studies) as required.
  • Provide support in the preparation of regulatory- documentation

Basic Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry or related scientific discipline
  • 1 year experience or Master degree with 10 years of experience in analytical method development of proteins and enzymes.

Additional Skills/Preferences
  • Extensive knowledge of protein characterization, enzymatic and biopharmaceutical methods.
  • Technical experience in relevant biopharmaceutical analytical techniques (e.g. SEC, RPHPLC, IEX, HIC, CE, CE-SDS).
  • Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to participate in and facilitate decision-making.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Experience with high throughput systems is desirable.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities through effective organizational and time management.
  • Ability to travel within US and internationally as needed.
