Responsibilities
Main Purpose of Position

The purpose of this position is to support Elanco R&D Global Operations at Fort Dodge by collaborating with the animal care team to support field activities, ensuring smooth study conduct. The person in this role will work closely with the Team Leader for the animal care group as well as the study execution team. Additionally, the individual will be expected to provide innovative solutions within a positive and motivating work environment.


Technical Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated experience in the management of facilities, including understanding maintenance needs.
  • Keen understanding of facility set up and design in order to facilitate the completion of various study types across multiple species.
  • Capability of prioritization and communication of daily work required in order to maintain efficiency as well as follow-up to ensure all work is completed.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of supplies required (animal feeds, cleaning equipment, chemicals, and PPE)
  • Cross-functional coordination with quality/regulatory affairs and scientific leaders to ensure research materials are managed within compliance expectations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of study support activities allowing for flexibility to assist as needed.
  • Development and revision of SOPs supporting animal care facility utilization and maintenance.

  • Effectively manage and develop a small support team, ensuring adherence to the strategy implemented.
  • Work effectively and flexibly within and across all Elanco R&D teams and external collaborators to achieve overall Elanco R&D deliverables.
  • Coach and consult with peers, cross-functional team members and third parties on multiple aspects of preparation of study material and study conduct.
  • Develop an extensive internal and external network to facilitate global material shipment.

Basic Qualifications
  • BS, Degree
  • Three to five years of work experience in animal care and study conduct.
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position


Additional Skills/Preferences
  • AALAS certification (ALAT or LAT) must be obtained within 18 months of starting the role.
