The Clinical Development Organization (CDO), a division of Lilly Research Laboratories, partners with Medical colleagues in Research, Oncology, Biomedicines, and Diabetes to effectively and efficiently design, plan, and execute clinical trials across all phases of research. The purpose of the Design Hub Analytics Financial Associate role is to support the design of clinical programs and trials by bringing internal and external data sources, analyses, and insights through financial modeling. The models will inform multiple scenarios, driving excellence in clinical trial design, enabling more efficient planning and execution. The Design Hub Analytics Financial Associate is responsible for executing the financial modeling tools, processes, and systems for modeling scenarios and supporting the execution of a deep knowledgebase of historical clinical trial costs.

Perform financial modeling
  • Utilize broad data sources to inform design scenarios and options, country and site allocations optimizing time, value, cost and/or risk
  • Perform financial modeling that applies clinical development, therapeutic area and financial expertise to estimate the impact of clinical trial design scenarios and decisions, including the integration with trial and site budgeting processes
  • Partner with resources to collect knowledgebase of granular clinical trial actual costs (planned and actuals)
  • Assess trial-level budgets and compare actuals against forecasted budgets to inform future planning and budgeting efforts
  • Complete business case analysis to inform Design Hub resourcing decisions
Execute efforts to automate and streamline financial tools, systems and processes
  • Assess and evaluate evolving business partner needs that could be addressed with automation or additional analytic resources
  • Build simplified and streamlined tools for application across the team
  • Craft templates and tools that enable consistency and end-user ease of use interpretation.
  • Partner within Design Hub to calculate key performance measurements (including cost savings)
  • Research data capabilities and technologies that will assist in growing financial data capabilities and/or automation/efficiency

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in a science or business related field of study
  • Minimum one year experience in financial planning, forecasting, reporting or analysis.
