Do you have a proven passion for science? Are you willing to be challenged with generating true innovation? This entry-level senior scientist research position resides at the vibrant Lilly Biotechnology Center-San Diego in the department of Biotechnology Discovery Research of Lilly Research Laboratories. Your responsibilities will focus on the discovery, investigation, and enablement of therapeutics that utilize molecular switching strategies to control in vivo activity in response to an endogenous trigger.

The initial focus will be in the field of endocrinology; however if successful, will expand into other therapeutic areas. Can you bring innovative engineering strategies that synthesize solutions from a breadth of understanding including, but not limited to, the desired pharmacology, understanding of human physiology, knowledge of ligand binding properties, and molecular requirements for the manufacturing of therapeutics that significantly improve outcomes for the patient? An example of a protein therapeutic utilizing a molecular switch for improved therapeutic outcomes is glucose responsive insulin. You will build on, and contribute to, the 90+ years of bioproduct expertise at Eli Lilly and Company by working collaboratively across departments, divisions, and research sites.
