This position will focus on formulation development and characterization of Seattle Genetics' (SGEN) antibodies and antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). The successful candidate will work closely with Process Development, Analytical Sciences, and Quality Control. The successful candidate will also provide formulation and process characterization to support regulatory filings.

  • Development of robust liquid and lyophilized formulations for antibodies and ADCs
  • Design and execute preformulation studies, liquid and lyophilized formulation development, stability studies and shipping/handling studies utilizing appropriate analytical tools to evaluate and characterize molecule degradation pathways
  • Stability evaluation of material for use in toxicology and clinical settings as well as container/closure systems
  • Generation and timely delivery of data to key stakeholders
  • Present study results, generate technical reports and sections for CMC documents required for various regulatory authorities (IND, BLA, IMPD)
  • Supervise and mentor research associate(s)

  • Ph.D. or B.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Biological Sciences or related discipline
  • Ph.D. with 2+ years or B.S. with 12+ years of industrial experience
  • Previous experience with protein formulation development preferably in subcutaneous formulations including expertise in structural and functional characterization of biomolecules
  • Hands-on experience and good understanding of analytical and biophysical protein characterization including HPLC, CE, IEF, CEX, SDS-PAGE, AUC, DSC, CD, FTIR, Fluorescence
  • Experience in solid oral formulation development is a plus
  • Good critical thinking skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to operate both independently and in team settings
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Some supervisory skills
