ICB International, Inc., (“ICBII”), a La Jolla based biotech company, has developed proprietary blood-brain barrier (BBB) permeable SMART Molecules (Biologics) that have been proven in animal models to cross the BBB and selectively bind aberrant CNS protein targets for detection, quantification, and disease altering effects. Our current focus is on the commercialization of disease altering drugs for Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, MSA and Glioblastoma.

We are looking for an innovative, vibrant and experienced PhD Neurobiologist with demonstrated record of accomplishments in form of publications. You will be responsible for quantifying levels of aberrant CNS proteins in treated and non-treated animals using state of the art techniques for quantitative immunohistochemistry employing enzyme based signal-amplification, Western blot, ELISA, MRM-MS, and brain imaging.  Experience in molecular cloning, making and screening phage-display libraries, protein expression and purification will be a plus. An ideal candidate would be a neurobiologist who thinks out of the box and is willing to optimize unconventional, disruptive technologies to solve complex CNS problems to curve down the debilitation of neurodegenerative diseases. In addition, this position requires supervising 1-2 laboratory assistants, strong English writing and presentation skills, as well as interaction with ICBII staff personnel and collaborators with a professional demeanor.

On a daily basis, you will supervise vivarium staff to maintain colonies of transgenic mice, genotyping them to ensure that transgenic mice do not lose expression of transgene with successive breeding while complying with IACUC procedures, perform tissue histology, and run immunoblotting assays on cytosolic and membrane bound proteins.

Job Requirements

This is a hands-on PhD Research Scientist /Sr. Research Scientist position with 2-3 years’ postdoctoral experience in neurobiology from a reputable research laboratory with demonstrated record of accomplishments.  Ability to work independently from day one is essential. Again, hand-on experience in quantification of proteins from brain tissues and bodily fluids using state of the art immunostaining and immunoblotting techniques are required for this position. Experience in behavioral testing of animals will also be a plus.

This position is available immediately and offers competitive salary and fringe benefits commensurate with experience. After the initial 90 days probationary period, the position will be on a permanent basis. ICBII is an equal opportunity employer.
