Project Description: The intern will become proficient in two analytical lab techniques and then use them to assess the impact of handling and stress on the stability of formulated drug substance (FDS). The project will include subjecting FDS to known stresses and potential stresses associated with drug product manufacturing (e.g., pumping, filtering, stirring, thawing, mixing) and then evaluating the FDS for evidence of damage. Importantly, the intern will evaluate new techniques for identifying such stress that are potentially more sensitive than currently accepted ones. The project will involve original work with a direct bearing on the manufacture of drug product, and will interact with multiple members of the existing team to complete the project.
Desired Majors and/or Skills:
- Major in a "hands-on" science (chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering), laboratory experience (including as part of coursework), proficient in common software tools (e.g., office). Statistical training or strong mathematical skills desired but not required.

Desired Education Level:
- Rising Junior or higher, including graduate students.
