Amgen is seeking a Strategic Planning & Operations Manager at its office in Thousand Oaks, CA to join the Final Product Technologies (FPT) organization. This individual will report to the head of the Final Product Strategic Planning & Operations (FPT SP&O) function.

This role will support the FPT organization by managing strategic and special projects across the FPT organization. The Manager is responsible to stay informed of best practices and provide innovative, impactful ideas to optimize processes to support the organization's growth strategies.

The Strategic Planning & Operations Manager will work independently in a role with self-directed action.

Responsibilities Include:

*Structure and manage all project aspects from start through completion, including: planning, cost, schedule, risk, communications, resources, team dynamics and performance, implementation, monitoring, completion and follow-up

*Provide regular reports, dashboards and presentations that clearly summarize status, results and implications/recommendations to key stakeholders to inform decision making

*Turn unstructured business issues/requests into appropriate action plans and projects that result in high quality, meaningful and actionable deliverables

*Align project teams and interact across functional and corporate groups to achieve project objectives

*Implement innovative and efficient process improvements as needed

*Own, build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders; proactively seek buy-in and provide on-going collaboration and consultation to inform how best to address business needs

*Eagerly contribute to all initiatives as needed and requested

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree


Master's degree and 2 years of Operation and/or Project Management and/or Business experience


Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Operations and/or Project Management and/or Bbusiness experience


Associate's degree and 10 years of Operations and/or Project Management and/or Business experience


High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Operations and/or Project Management and/or Business experience

Preferred Qualifications:

* Master's Degree in business, engineering or life sciences, 5 years directly relevant experience

*Fluency in project management methodology, best practices and tools

*Demonstrated ability in providing leadership that motivates cross-functional teams to advance complex projects to completion

*Superior organizational skills and attention to detail

*Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically to support key business decisions

*Excellent analytical skills

*Strong oral, written and presentation skills with ability to explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiences

*Proficient facilitation, negotiation, problem-solving and change management skills

*Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project

*Superior ability to work in a self-directed manner while balancing a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and competing demands
