Job Responsibilities:

As Research Investigator, you will work with internal and external partners in a highly collaborative environment to successfully advance drug product development programs from early candidate nomination to commercial technology transfer. The successful candidate will design, develop, and scale up oral dosage forms to support toxicology studies and clinical studies (Phase I-III) as well as commercial technology transfer. The candidate will assess physicochemical, biopharmaceutical, formulation, and process risks of new drug candidates that are critical for design & selection of API & oral dosage forms.

The role includes emphasis on designing and executing risk mitigation strategies using formulation and process technologies that would enable robust and efficient drug product development. The position also requires authoring technical reports and documentation to support regulatory filings.

This candidate must work in a collaborative environment to apply physical & organic chemistry, biopharmaceutics, formulation and process development principles and technologies to deliver quality products to patients. The successful candidate will effectively manage development projects with minimal supervision and provide independent interactions in matrix teams consisting of functional groups including discovery, toxicology, clinical development, chemical development, and regulatory.

Job Requirements:

This position requires a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related scientific disciplines with 0 to 4 years of experience in pre-formulation, formulation and process development.

The candidate must be highly motivated, interactive, and creative individual who possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to work effectively as an individual contributor in team environment (internal and external collaborators).

The successful candidate should be knowledgeable in the area of novel drug delivery. The main drug delivery focus will be on colonic, buccal, and sub-lingual administration. Additionally, the knowledge and experience in the oral delivery of proteins and peptides will be preferred. Prior experience with permeation enhancers irrespective of the route of administration will be highly desirable.
