Summary: The position is responsible for involvement with start-up, normal operation, monitoring, maintaining and shutdown of Plant Utility systems and equipment within Plant Utility mechanical rooms that support overall facility buildings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Maintain high pressure steam and hot water boilers, controls and associated equipment.

• Maintain boiler and cooling tower chemical treatment program.

• Maintain all other Plant Utility equipment such as boiler pretreatment water, condensate return, natural gas, domestic potable water, tepid water, waste water.

• Monitor controls of plant systems utilizing computer driven Building Automation System (BAS) or Programmable Logic Controls (PLC).

• Review, monitor, respond and react as necessary to alarm notifications from the Building Automation Systems.

• Perform assigned Plant Utility monthly Preventative Maintenance.

• May plan and schedule outside contractors/vendors to perform scheduled and/or non-scheduled Preventative Maintenance or general work.

• Complete assigned Work Orders in a timely manner.

• May schedule, assign, complete and review incursions specific to Plant Utility activities.

• Communicate and coordinate with each department and within Facilities Management when planned and unplanned work events occur.

• Inform management and prepare documentation for update as necessary.

• May be required to oversee the execution of small departmental Plant Utility projects.

• Maintain documents and records on all plant equipment and systems.

• Interface with other departments, contractors and disciplines on scheduling repairs and maintenance of plant utility systems.

• Follows current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs) and good business practices.

• Maintain and order adequate equipment, spare parts and supplies for Plant Utility inventory.

• Participate in rotational On-Call Schedule.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and overall comfort and general familiarity with computer systems.

• Ability to demonstrate basic problem solving skills.

• Ability to learn and follow routine procedures independently as well as part of a team.

• Comfort and flexibility to work in a changing environment.

• Must be able to lift, push, and/or pull at least 50lbs.

• Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with the business.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Effective time management skills to allow deadlines to be met in a timely manner.
Education and Experience:

• AAS degree, preferably in an Engineering or Construction Technologies related discipline, with 2 years of relevant experience or;

• HSD/GED with 4 years of relevant experience.

• Prior experience in the maintenance and operation of large scale utilities plant preferred.

• Level will be based upon relevant experience.
