Using deep scientific knowledge and extensive program management experience in drug discovery, the Research Planning & Strategy team is seeking a Sr. Program Manager / Associate Director to lead the operational aspects of multiple cross functional drug discovery programs in order to achieve their advancement through the pipeline.


• Program Management: Leads cross-functional research and technology teams to achieve key program objectives within a portfolio. In collaboration with senior team members, formulates and executes the strategy for advancing programs to the next key milestone.

• Communication: Ensures effective, accurate, appropriate and timely communication within cross functional teams to achieve key program objectives and provides updates on key issues and progress to Sr. Management.

• Partners / Collaborators: Where applicable, acts as a key liaison for the program between Regeneron and corporate partners/collaborators. Ensures research / development plans to support the collaboration are generated, approved and executed by the joint teams.

• Program Planning and Monitoring: Develops, maintains and updates strategic and operational project/program plans, goals and key deliverables and secures team and management approval. Monitors progress for these project/program deliverables as they relate to high level R&D objectives.

• Program Reporting: Prepares, provides input, and/or manages the compilation of key data reviews and business decision proposals to Sr. management and/or joint collaboration committees.

• Process Management: Defines, designs and implements new and creative processes and tools that allow for vertical and horizontal integration and efficiencies across functions and across the organization.

• Problem Solving: Proactively identifies and critically analyzes problems affecting assigned programs. In some cases, may be involved in finding viable and long-lasting solutions to cross-program, cross-functional, departmental and/or organizational challenges.


• The successful candidate has excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, and possesses strong presentation and critical thinking skills.

• Interacts comfortably with all levels of individuals in the organization (both within and outside the company).

• Builds effective teams by understanding team dynamics and motivating others; proactively develops and fosters constructive interactions among team members in order to address difficult situations.

• Resolves and negotiates conflicts or problems with tact, diplomacy and composure.

• Handles multiple projects and priorities with exceptional organizational and time management skills (both project and self).

• Demonstrates proficiency MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc. in addition to general knowledge with shared work environments.

Minimum Years of Experience: BS / MS / PhD with 10+ years of relevant progressive project / program management experience in the drug discovery / development industry. Advanced degree (e.g. PhD, MS plus MBA) preferred.
