Position will be responsible for defining, designing, and delivering IT solutions that enable AbbVie's business processes that support effective and efficient planning process across Abbvie's supply chain area (Forecasting, Demand Planning, Production Planning, replenishment planning etc.). This position is accountable to ensure high quality solution designs that meet current and anticipated business needs. Responsibilities also include evaluating alternatives to satisfy business objectives and cross-project process and design governance. This position is responsible for partnering with business leadership and project management to provide guidance to project teams and delivering successful end results.
This position is expected to work with minimal oversight and to provide leadership to multiple concurrent IT Projects and Teams.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Partner with business unit IT to deliver high quality solution designs.
  • Define templates, standards, and patterns to be used across project teams.
  • Provides consultancy support to business in defining or designing business processes and researching and identifying enabling technologies based on business requirements.
  • Driving requirement collection workshops with business with a view to gather all requirements to a sufficient level of details, come up with solutions, align solutions with business.
  • Establish appropriate design review and governance across application development projects; anticipate implementation risks and recommend appropriate mitigation plans
  • Update requirements and design documentation. Oversee development and testing efforts,
    analyse security requirements and assist with training requirements.
  • Oversee and approve the completion of deliverables including requirements, prototypes, design, configuration, development, and data conversion by employee and system integrator team members.
  • Proactively resolve delivery related issues so as to ensure projects achieve the expected outcomes within the approved quality, timeline, and budget parameters.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience, including 5 years hands on experience of working as system analyst in the area of supply chain planning.
  • Strong understanding of the planning processes across supply chain i.e. forecasting, demand planning, supply network planning, production planning and detailed scheduling etc.
  • has worked in the areas of Supply Chain Management [SCM], Production Planning & Control [PP] from an IT or system perspective.
  • has around 3 to 4 years of supply chain domain experience in pharma or chemical industry.
  • Worked in discrete manufacturing, production process industry (PP-PI) and repetitive manufacturing environment.
  • Configuration of PP-MRP processes, production orders, process orders, repetitive manufacturing, classification, batch management, capacity planning, demand management.
  • Expertise in setting up PP master data, MRP, BOMs, routings, work centers/ resources, planned order management, planning and optimization.
  • Extensive experience in using User Exit, User Training, Documentation, Go live, post implementation support mainly in supply chain planning including customization/configuration and Enhancement development.
  • Experience of all the phases of the full life cycle project implementation, gathering business requirement, business blue printing, realization, unit testing, integration testing, Go - Live preparation and Post Production support.
  • Defining Supply Area, Control cycle, Kanban correction, Kanban Control board, Defining Kanban Strategies for the business process, JIT, Kanban Evaluation, Kanban with MRP and Kanban without MRP.
  • Strong knowledge on Process Industries scenario like Master Recipes, Batch Management, Demand & Distribution Planning, MRP, Shop floor Planning and Capacity Leveling etc.
  • SAP experience and knowledge in the planning area is must. JDA exposure is desirable but not must.
