Job description

The Transgenic Group is seeking an experienced and talented molecular and cell biologist to design and implement the development of our genetically modified animals (GMAs).

  • Use of cutting edge targeting approaches, gene editing techniques, and gene transfer methods, the successful candidate will utilize both embryo and stem cell formats for GMA creation while working alongside an established transgenic team to develop these mouse models.
  • Responsible for strategic design and project management.
  • Responsible for all genetic screening and transgene expression/functional validation.
  • Work interactively with multiple drug discovery teams onsite to further validate, characterize, and distribute mouse models that directly address drug discovery and program validation.
  • Excellent written and oral skills are necessary
  • Accomplish goals under project team time lines

  • Ph.D. with at least 3 years of post-doctoral experience and 6-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Direct experience with gene editing techniques, gene transfer, and recombineering methods, homologous recombination, stem cell culture and modification. Hands on exp
  • Experience performing stem cell modifications with bacterial artificial chromosomes constructs or creating humanized transgenic mice is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of mouse genetics and genotyping, mouse breeding and production, and downstream phenotypic analysis.
  • Demonstrated track record of publication and be able to work in a cross-functional team.
  • Support breeding management and have a strong knowledge of molecular biology.
  • Prefer that the candidate have experience in Immunology and understand immune-related genes and gene interactions.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
