Position Summary

As head of the Endocrinology Marketing team, this position will lead the brand team in the development and execution of short / mid / and long-term strategy as well as annual operations plan. Additionally, this role will provide critical strategic input to global strategies related to the products and business development activities for the therapeutic area.

Leadership skills will be critical in this role. Providing marketing direction as well as working across functions and providing clear guidance to achieve a best in class launch is imperative. Additionally, this position will hire the Marketing team and be responsible for the acquisition and development of top Endocrinology Marketing talent to achieve key milestones and business objectives

Essential Functions


Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Plot vision for the future of Ipsen's Endocrinolgy success in the U.S. and key steps to achieving vision
  • Ensure successful performance of SD in the U.S. market and align brand positioning, messaging and key strategies working closelywith Global marketing counterparts
  • Accountable for the development and successful execution of commercial operational objectives, goals, and KPIs and provide Sr. Management with routine updates
  • Apply creativity, innovation & out-of-box thinking to solve complexbusiness / marketplace issues
  • Serve as a member of the Global Marketing Team and represent the U.S. in Global Strategic and/or Life Cycle Management discussions
  • Developing, coordinating and executing annual business and brand plans as per schedule
  • Forecasting and monitoring gross and net sales - conducting channel and payer assessment in line with managed markets strategy to ensure brand contributions are in line with corporate expectations
  • Implement an ROI measurement plan to assess impact of key tactics on sales growth and anticipate when functional course correction is required and make adjustments with a sense of urgency
  • Ensure that the marketing processes, programs, and internal reports are developed, implemented, and effectively administered to be consistent with Ipsen's corporate guidance and all regulatory, legal, ethical SOPs
  • Evaluate marketing research plans continuously to ensure they are informing strategy and monitoring performance
  • Accountable for the development and successful management of an annual brand budget; collaborate with functional leadership to ensure financial objectives are met and resources reassigned if required
  • Ensure the Endocrinology Marketing team is appropriately staffed and are continually developing as individuals and a team
  • Build and leverage effective relationships with key Endocrinology customers across all business segments (GPOs, Health Systems, Large Community Practices, Societies, Patient Advocacy, etc.)
  • Facilitate cross-functional goal setting including sales, managed care, reimbursement, business analytics, etc. that will meet overall brand objective
  • Performing all Company business in accordance with all regulations (e.g. EEO, FDA, OSHA, PDMA, EPA, PhRMA, etc.) and Company policies and procedures. When violations are noted/observed they are to be immediately reported to management. Demonstrating high ethical and professional standards with all business contacts
  • Complies with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of Ipsen U.S. staff


  • Bachelor's Degree from accredited college or university; MBA preferred

  • Minimum 15 years of progressively responsible pharmaceutical or biotechnology sales and marketing experience, with at least 7 of those years in U.S. Endocrinology marketing

  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills, including excellent presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple internal cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated consistent track record of success and delivering strong sales results
  • Demonstrated strong scientific/medical aptitude and experience.
  • Demonstrated deep knowledge of Endocrinology specialty markets with complex science and reimbursement
  • Proven successful people management experience with direct reports and leading teams
  • Demonstrated success in project, vendor, and budget management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the regulations associated with promotion and industry-supported scientific education activities.
  • Effective profit and loss (P&L) management experience.
  • Ability and willingness to work within an environment of strict compliance to all appropriate regulatory guidelines to successfully design and execute tactics, programs and tools that achieve business objectives.
  • Willingness/ability to travel domestically by automobile and mass transportation. International travel may be required.
