Position Summary

Trucode Gene Repair Inc. is a stealth-mode therapeutics development company pioneering a novel synthetic gene editing technology to treat and cure patients with devastating rare diseases. We seek a highly skilled, motivated and creative scientist ready to function in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.  Candidates should have exceptional cell and molecular biology training.  The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic and rewarding work environment where the abilities to effectively communicate and function in a team environment will be essential for success.

Responsibilities

  • Design and hands-on execution of gene editing studies to analyze on- and off- target effects of gene editing using novel therapeutic agents
  • Perform cell biology, molecular biology, and genomic analyses
  • Analyze, interpret, and present experimental data
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure timeline adherence and project alignment to meet group and company goals
  • Contribute to scientific and strategy discussions to advance and enhance platforms and product candidates
  • Mentor junior members and research associates
  • Maintain accountability for project success and results delivery
  • Support external and internal projects via team meetings, presentations

Essential Qualifications

  • PhD degree or equivalent with at least 3 years of post-doctoral training or industry experience.
  • Very strong background in molecular biology and genetics
  • Hands-on experience with current cell and molecular biology techniques
  • Experienced with mammalian cell culture (primary cell culture, cell line), transient transfections, and cell-based assays
  • Team player and a clear communicator
  • Close attention to detail and record keeping
  • Ability to operate independently and readily adapt to change

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge in DNA repair mechanisms and pathways
  • Experience in genetic diseases
  • Experience with mammalian gene therapy/editing (CRISPR/Cas9, ZFNs, TALENs), RNA biology, or DNA/RNA/protein delivery
  • Experience with digital PCR
  • Experience in NGS (eg library preparation workflows,  Illumina platform)
  • Experience in computational genomic analysis tools (e.g. bowtie) and scripting language (e.g. Python, R)
  • Experience in conducting in vivo studies
  • Experience in cell sorting, flow cytometry Luminex multiplex assay, microarray analysis, and bioanalytics
  • Experience with IHC/ICC/IF
