Job Description:

Position Summary

The Accounts Payable Specialist position is to ensure timely and accurate processing of Ipsen's US accounts payable transactions. This position is responsible for performing the accounts payable process and seeing that all vendor invoices are paid within contractual terms. Other special projects will be assigned as necessary to support the growing business.

Essential Functions

Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Performing accounts payable processing in an efficient, timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure invoices and check requests are assigned POs or coded directly to GL accounts.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries regarding unpaid invoices and work if necessary with our business partners to resolve.
  • Set up ACH, Check and Wire payments within accounting system on a weekly basis.
  • Prepare analyses of accounts and produce monthly reports
  • Other special projects as required to support management
  • Recommend changes to improve the payment process as necessary
  • Complies with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of IpsenU.S. staff


Qualifications

Education

• Degree preferred, not required

Experience

• 5+ years of accounts payable experience with a two-year business degree, or 7+ years of accounts payable experience
• Systems such as SAP, Concur and MS Office.

Core Competencies (Specific knowledge, skills and abilities that enable an individual to effectively perform the job)

• Strong Excel skills, including use of v-lookups and pivot tables.
• Strong organization skills and time management skills.
• Must be flexible, able to manage multiple tasks, and have strong attention to detail
• Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills a must
• Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts at all levels
