The AbbVie's Translational Imaging group, part of the department of Integrated Science and Technologies (iSAT), is based in Lake County outside of Chicago. The group works across different disease areas (e.g. neurosciences, oncology, and immunology) applying biomedical imaging methods to accelerate drug development. The group is highly multidisciplinary including biologists, pharmacologists, chemists, physicists and mathematicians, and collaborates widely with other scientists and clinicians within AbbVie, leading academics and other industry groups.

We are currently seeking a clinical imaging data scientist to join our team. The Clinical Imaging Data Scientistwill provide technical expertise and operational support for the implementation of imaging endpoints in clinical trials (Phase I-III) across the abbvie portfolio (Immunology, Neuroscience and Oncology), working closely will clinical operations, statistics and CROs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop/review study-specific documents including: Image Review Charter, Technical Operations Manuals, Image Acquisition Forms, image data transfer specifications and agreements.
  • Set-up and coordinate electronic image transfer to abbvie picture archiving and communication system.
  • Perform image data QC, and ensure that the imaging data received is consistent with acquisition protocol transfer specification.
  • Manage the storage and retrieval of abbvie clinical imaging data.


Basic:

The successful candidate should be qualified by a combination of education, training and experience.
  • BS, MS, or Ph.D in a scientific discipline.
  • 7+ (BS), 5+ (MS), 0+ (Ph.D) years of experience
  • Practical experience related to clinical imaging.
  • Thorough understanding of medical imaging IT, including PACs and the DICOM standard.
  • Experience of working with MRI and/or PET data
  • Experience of supporting clinical trials with imaging components.
  • Data and IT skills, to include:
    • Significant experience with both Windows and Linux systems
    • Development of bespoke software, including scripting in Linux and use of modern

      programming languages
    • Experience with at least one of the following: MATLAB, Python, R, Java, C++, Perl.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the capacity to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Highly organized, systematic thinker.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Results orientated.
