Manager, Compliance - PEER (Pharmacyclics Expert Engagement Resource)

General Position Summary/Purpose:

The Manager, Compliance - PEER (Pharmacyclics Expert Engagement Resource) position is responsible for the overall management of the PEER team and function at PCYC. PEER is responsible for compliant execution of activities with United States and Puerto Rico Health Care Provider (HCP) Consultants. PEER team members work with the Business Units and other support functions including OEC, Legal and Regulatory Affairs to ensure that consulting activities occur consistent with company policies and procedures, including determining eligibility of HCPs to contract with the company to provide consulting services and the appropriate rate for the services.

Key Accountabilities/Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage effectiveness of operational procedures within PEER to ensure annual plans, needs assessments, fair market value assessments, and back-end reconciliation for HCP/Customer related engagements and programs meet compliance requirements with all government, corporate, and departmental guidelines.
  • Supervise employees within PEER responsible for activity/event management, contract submission, back-end reconciliation, and reimbursement requirements.
  • Oversee the review of documents and approvals for compliance with requirements and maintain proper documentation.
  • Oversee HCP qualification assessments and determinations of appropriate rates utilizing the Fair Market Value (FMV) tool.
  • Identify gaps, analyze trends, make recommendations and implement change management plans for process improvements to drive best practices for managing HCP/Customer related programs.
  • Provide guidance to internal teams as well as business partners on HCP consulting and compliance requirements; serve as the SME for HCP consulting process, understanding all aspects and nuances of the consulting process.
  • Lead and execute compliance initiatives including training and be the departmental lead and point of contact for all audits.
  • Establish and maintain a strong network within the department and external stakeholders.
  • Collect, track, and analyze project milestone metrics to create reports and develop dashboards to provide quality data and performance indicators.
  • Liaise with internal departments and business partners to support quarter-, and year end close outs to meet transparency reporting requirements.
  • Liaise when suitable with AbbVie equivalents to best ensure Pharmacyclics can benefit from any corporate processes and enhancements.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS required with focus in Science, Business or Project Management preferable
  • Minimum 4+ years relevant experience.
  • Pharma industry experience (compliance, consultancy process, HCP regulations, transparency, etc.).
  • Preferred knowledge of:
    • Contracting, compliance, business systems associated with the consulting process.
    • Project management and/or business excellence tools and techniques.
    • HCP relationships and consultancy process requirements.
    • Systems used in the consultancy / payment processes.
  • Must have clear leadership skills that minimally include:
    • strong written and effective interpersonal communication;
    • capability to clearly present, influence, and logically justify proposals;
    • sound judgement;
    • negotiation and conflict management;
    • effective communication across disciplines and cross-functional areas;
    • relationship building and fostering teamwork.
