Job Description

We are seeking a talented and dynamic scientist to join and help drive ongoing research in the discovery and development of therapeutic agents for oncology/immuno-oncology. The successful candidate will participate in discovery and translational research efforts aimed at identifying and characterizing novel therapeutic targets and selection of optimal drug combinations, mechanism of action, and applying sound scientific judgment to answer critical questions, as well as design and implement appropriate decisional experiments. The successful applicant will work in an extremely collaborative and dynamic environment to help initiate and support projects from inception through clinical development as part of a multidisciplinary project team

 

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

Applicants should have a BS degree and 14+ years of relevant experience or an MS degree with 13+ years of direct experience in research drug discovery and target validation in oncology/immuno-oncology, preferably in industry.  Preference will be given to candidates with a strong background and hands-on experience in functional genomics, intracellular signaling networks, and cancer cell immune evasion mechanisms using a variety of pre-clinical models. Demonstrated experience in target discovery and translational research is strongly preferred.  Technical skills should include extensive experience in general immunology, molecular and cell biology methods, 3D cell culture and co-culture, cell separation techniques and immunoassays; development and execution of cell-based assays for evaluation of cell signaling (western blot, reporter-based assays) and proliferation/survival using small-molecule inhibitors; experience in flow cytometry and FACS is an advantage. Applicants should be able to troubleshoot independently, have a proven ability to manage several projects and set priorities, and show curiosity-driven engagement in scientific problems. The successful candidate needs to be able to manage more than one project at any given time, to work successfully in a cross-functional and highly collaborative team environment, and to communicate clearly to a variety of audiences in both speech and writing.
