Position Summary

Known for its scientific and operational excellence, Regeneron is a leading science-based biopharmaceutical company that discovers, invents, develops, manufactures, and commercializes medicines for the treatment of serious medical conditions. Regeneron commercializes medicines for eye diseases, high LDL-cholesterol, atopic dermatitis and a rare inflammatory condition and has product candidates in development in other areas of high unmet medical need, including rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, pain, cancer and infectious diseases.

These positions are in Tech Transfer and Logistics within Preclinical Manufacturing & Process Development in Tarrytown, NY. There are 3 positions for Spring AND Summer (full time, about 7 months from January to August 2019).

Position 1: (Spring/ Summer)
The student will support a group of functional project managers who lead and manage cross-functional teams in development, transfer, and startup of new manufacturing processes and technology from Pre-Clinical Manufacturing and Process Development (PMPD) to Industrial Operations and Product Supply (IOPS).

With guidance, the student will gain familiarity with and improve upon existing tools, resources, best practices, and/or business processes supporting project managers and/or teams to enhance accessibility and searchability of relevant information and resources and/or enable more efficient and effective communication and collaboration. He/she will work to understand customer requirements and actively act with needs in mind, and may develop and implement improvements to team collaboration or resource sites (in SharePoint and/or Confluence). He/she may write up routinely used meeting minutes, communicate project proposals and results, or present and document new or updated best practices or guidelines. As needed, they may also support project managers in coordination and/or facilitation of meetings through adherence to established departmental and/or company timelines.

Position 2: (Spring/ Summer)
The student will be relied upon to help manage drug product and research reagent inventory from secured freezers with the use of a LIMS database. They will help receive and fulfill daily product requests to support Regeneron research needs in a timely fashion while providing high quality customer service. He/she may prepare aliquots of drug product and research material while utilizing sterile lab technique to support inventory and requisition needs. They will assist in conducting external shipments of research reagents to collaborators and contract research organizations. They may help assist in expanding value-adding operational performance metrics based on supply chain management practices and devising strategies to improve inventory and distribution efficiencies. They may also assist in developing dashboards to visualize these metrics within a data visualization software. They may also assist in monitoring, planning, mapping, and forecasting of product demands across the organization.

Position 3: (Spring/ Summer)
The student will work in a cross-functional team supporting Resource Management and Operations. This group performs analyses informing Headcount and Equipment needs, and maintaining budgets, forecasts, and operational processes for PMPD.

With guidance, the student will gain familiarity with and improve upon existing resource analysis methods, seeking to leverage statistical applications to enhance accuracy of forecasting models. The candidate will gain exposure to, and seek to understand key drivers in resourcing models, including production processes and development activities within PMPD. Additionally, the candidate will work to streamline current resourcing methodologies and may work to improve knowledge sharing through the use of shared data dashboards. As needed, the candidate may assist the Resource Management and Operations group with other aspects of Operations and Logistics. This is a customer oriented role, and strong communication and customer focus are a must.

• Must be an undergraduate or graduate student

• Must be pursuing a degree in Business, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Biochemistry, or equivalent science major with an interest in Project Management, Operations, Logistics and Data Analytics

• Prior laboratory experience and/or knowledge of bioprocessing is a plus

• Must have great communication and organizational skills

• Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint, Atlassian Confluence, or other web-based systems for team collaboration, knowledge sharing, or wiki tools

• Familiarity with tools like TIBCO Spotfire or other BI tools a plus

• Strong statistical skills, coding a plus

General Co-op Program Information:

• Must be enrolled in, or accepted to, an academic program pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, PhD or PharmD

• Program is full-time (40 hrs/wk) and is paid

• Prefer demonstrated leadership in areas such as campus activities, clubs, sports or the community

• Minimum GPA of 3.0

• You will work with a specific manager on a project(s)
