Summary:

The qualified candidate will design, develop, and perform various immunologic, biochemical, and molecular biology-based assays which address toxicologic, pharmacologic, immunomodulatory and/or immunogenic potential of discovery and development compounds, as well as facilitate investigative efforts across other departments. This position requires critical thinking skills and an appropriate level of scientific independence in assay design, optimization, performance, and validation; sample preparation and analysis; data collection; record keeping; and data evaluation.

Responsibilities:
  • Designs, develops, and implements novel laboratory procedures/assays and conducts laboratory procedures/assays in compliance with established protocols according to sound scientific principles and regulatory requirements. This person will utilize molecular, cellular, and in vivo approaches as well as a broad range of experimental platforms including cell culture, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, polymerase chain reaction, multiplex applications, immunoassays, and others, as appropriate.
  • Coordinates all technical aspects and daily operations for planning and completion of assigned assays/experimental projects, summarizes and helps to interpret data, and presents and defends experimental data to colleagues and management.
  • Compiles data, maintains study notebooks, prepares and/or revises SOPs, and maintains equipment (e.g., equipment logs, preventative maintenance) according to sound scientific principles and GLP guidelines.


Minimal knowledge base/skill set requirements

1. B.S. in a scientific discipline with a minimum of 3 years of laboratory experience in an industrial setting with hands-on experience with immunologic and molecular biologic techniques.

2. A strong willingness and aptitude to learn new technologies and apply novel methods.

3. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

4. Good written and verbal communications.
