Job Description:

This position will work with the Rare Disease Franchise (as the franchise is in development) and Business Development. Responsible for synthesising integrated and impactful TA insights, and for BD, being an active member of commercial due diligence teams across therapeutic areas to conduct deep analysis of the market landscape, securing the customer's perspective and assessing competitive dynamics.

Business Insights & Strategic Planning
  • Provide inputs for Therapeutic Area strategy for Rare Diseases, proactive engagement in defining market research and other projects to address strategic priorities and key business questions
  • Design and implement new, innovative methodologies and solutions to improve BI&A best practices
  • Triangulate primary research, secondary data analytics, and competitive intelligence to inform insights on BD opportunities and assumptions for forecasting modelling
  • Improve the calibre and select preferred research vendors, searching for best in class partners
  • Provide competitor overviews including financial elements of the company and strategic position

Stakeholder Management
  • Partner with key internal stakeholders (e.g. Medical, BD, Franchise) to provide strategic solutions and insights
  • Be a proactive contributor or lead to commercial due diligence teams
  • Develop and foster strong, sustainable relationships with internal stakeholders in the therapeutic area including key affiliates
  • In collaboration with the Brand Team, develop relationships with advocacy groups to allow better understanding of the patient journey

Brand performance analysis
  • Lead Therapeutic Area situation analysis (including current and future competition) and business planning in collaboration with franchises and key markets (e.g. driving product positioning, quality model inputs, marketing mix, patient / healthcare provider paradigms, KPI frameworks)
  • Partner with Launch Excellence to design, implement and monitor appropriate Key Performance Indicators
  • Consolidate quarterly brand dashboards for the Therapeutic Area
  • Consolidate actionable insights from internal and external sources to
  • inform decision making


Qualifications:
  • Ideal: PhD in Medicine or Life Sciences plus therapeutic knowledge of relevance to the associated therapy area
  • Masters in Scientific & Competitive Intelligence or Pharmaceutical Science

Experience:
  • Minimum of 3-5-years' relevant experience ideally in a Pharmaceutical CI Dept or Life Sciences Consultancy
  • Ability to shape decision making by leveraging insights from multiple sources including competitive intelligence activities
  • Strong communication skills
  • Understanding of the medical and commercial development strategy within a therapeutic area providing input into strategy
  • Proven experience in commercial due diligence


Essential Functions - Physical Demands & Working Conditions
  • PC literacy required; MSOffice skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Regularly required to operate standard office equipment (computer, copy/fax machine, etc.)
  • Ability to work on a computer up to 7 hours a day and occasionally sit or stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment which can include but not limited to office, laboratories, manufacturing, off-site venues, etc. depending on functional role.
  • Standard office environment. Potential interaction with laboratory environment with exposure to chemicals.
  • Close vision required for computer usage.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, climb and lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Required to consistently and properly use Personal Protective Equipment in keeping with Ipsen safety policies and practices.

Environmental, Health & Safety Requirements
  • Comply with all corporate and facility Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures. Attend all mandatory EH&S meetings and complete all EH&S training requirements.
  • Intervene in potentially unsafe situations and report any incident, unsafe acts, conditions or equipment. Report any emergency situation (medical emergency/chemical spill/security concern) by following established emergency programs and procedures.
