The Director of Sales and Operations Planning is accountable to ensure alignment of commercial demand with Operations Supply and alignment on key programs and product growth enable AbbVie. The Director will develop, implement and run a Sales and Operations Planning process to support AbbVie's growth. This assures product availability in the 170 Countries we sell in while minimizing financial risks associated with inventory management. Increased visibility to demand changes is critical to operations as the plants are running close to capacity and have limited capability to shift priorities quickly. The Director is also responsible for alignment of programs, projects and initiatives for each of the commercial Areas. This role will focus on developing relationships and processes to better communicate the forecasted products to operations in a way that is meaningful and ensures Operations has visibility to pending changes and risks.

Key Responsibilities Includes:

  • Align supply and demand to ensure patients have access to AbbVie products in each of our 170 markets around the world.
  • Work directly with Commercial Area VP's to represent Operations in their Area S+OP processes.
  • Summarize key changes in demand and highlight relevant impacts to Operations from a financial or shifting priorities perspective. Ensure resolution throughout the supply chain.
  • Lead a global team that works with affiliates globally and the supply planning centers to provide guidance and process improvement in the demand management process.
  • Present impacts of changes and key issues to Senior Leaders and executive leadership team at AbbVie, as well as create strategic plans to address.
  • Develop strategic direction for metrics reporting that will drive behaviors of exception based analytics.
  • Define necessary technology support to drive an efficient S&OP process.
  • Work with other stakeholders to enhance the "AbbVie S&OP Way" and embed into the culture as a sustainable business process.
  • Support new product launch teams to navigate the complexity of a launch related to scenario planning and demand uncertainty.
  • Drive for proactive risk identification and mitigation related to demand or supply.

  • 10 years Experience in Operations Brand management, Planning and Commercial
  • MBA preferred
  • Strong understanding/education in supply chain management and new product introductions
  • Working knowledge of Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain and commercial forecasting
  • Strong understanding of Operations Finance
  • Excellent/demonstrated and credible communication skills and style
  • Demonstrated strong Executive Presence
