Join bluebird bio's enthusiastic and collaborative Cellular Immunotherapy team by contributing to the overall success of our novel gene therapy-based immunotherapy approach. This new Research Operations Specialist will join our group focused on the design, development, and evaluation novel cellular immunotherapy approaches for clinical applications. This role will be responsible for managing and aligning activities between bbb, partners and external vendors necessary for development of CAR and TCR-engineered T cells. S/he will be accountable for timeline development, meeting facilitation, timely communication, driving deliverables and assessing and mitigating risk.

  • Work in a team focused on research and development of cellular therapeutics
  • Effectively interface with other scientific groups within bluebird bio to drive the success of projects
  • Manage relationships with partners and external vendors to coordinate project timelines and drive deliverables, manage budgets, contracts and capital project requisitions
  • Monitor progress of studies and provide timely data updates
  • Analyze process workflows and provide solutions for improving efficiencies
  • Potential to provide lab support when needed

About you:
  • BS/BA with 5+ years of industry experience or MS/MA with 3+ years industry experience
  • Excellent organizational skills, sufficient to multi-task in an extremely fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Superb communication skills
  • Experience with interacting with scientific personnel and external vendors
  • Familiarity with antibody discovery through rodent immunizations, hybridoma generation, and B cell cloning methods
  • Ability to work as part of a team, collaborating with members of other functional groups
  • Proven ability to effectively plan and organize work activities and prioritize task completion to meet schedules and deadlines
  • Experience building and managing Gantt charts
  • Applied experience in T cell or other immunotherapies a plus
  • Experience with developing and managing budgets a plus
  • Excellent computer skills, experience with Microsoft Project a plus
