Join bluebird bio's enthusiastic and collaborative team to launch bluebird's first gene therapy in the US. Reporting to the beta-thalassemia global commercial lead and working in close partnership with the US beta thalassemia Marketing, this role will support the launch and US commercial activities to ensure LentiGlobin is ready for take-off (execution of disease awareness, patient materials and dialogue tools) to provide an autologous gene therapy option for US patients with transfusion dependent beta-thalassemia

The role works closely with the Global & US Commercial teams (Global Marketing, Market Insights, Medical Affairs, Patient Advocacy, Patient Navigation, Digital Marketing, Commercial Operations), the Program Management to develop and execute clear, concise and actionable strategic and tactical plans to optimize the US launch and commercial success of bbb's innovative LentiGlobin Gene Therapy. About the role
  • Contribute to US strategic and tactical plan in collaboration with a cross-functional commercial team
  • Liaise with global marketing and market research team to provide insights into launch efforts as it relates to the US market landscape for beta thalassemia
  • HCP Marketing: Drive disease awareness and education efforts in beta thalassemia around unmet need and driving a dialogue (post approval) between HCPs and Patients around advanced therapy
    • Execute, monitor and adapt multi-channel HCP disease state awareness communications in the US, leveraging global disease state awareness assets
  • Patient Marketing: In preparation for approval and launch, design, create and execute patient educational/promotional materials or successful US launch
    • Collaborate with Digital Marketing to build and execute strategy and content for patient and digital (including e-marketing and social media) channels and manage external agencies in this effort.
    • Collaborate with global marketing on US patient-specific disease state awareness strategy and execution, aligning to ensure promotional and non-promotional efforts are complementary and optimized
    • Develop strategy and plan for development of patient brand advocates
    • Build relationships with US patient advocacy groups
  • Manage agency partners and shepherd disease awareness and promotional materials through the medical, regulatory, legal review process and integrate feedback accordingly to ensure compliant execution
  • Manage timelines, budgets, and resources: includes ensuring timelines, budget, and resources square up to brand strategic and US specific objectives

Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in a life science; MBA, or advanced degree, preferred
  • 7 years in the pharmaceutical field (can include market insights, sales, marketing, etc) with 4-5 years experience in a US marketing role, preferably in rare disease
  • At least 2 years of US patient marketing experience and digital execution experience
  • Must be able to see and communicate the big picture from lots of data and information
  • Experience in high science, competitive market required.
  • US product launch experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, demonstrated ability to successfully drive a project to completion
  • Enthusiasm for working closely with medical affairs members in a high-science environment
  • Solutions-oriented, strong analytical and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
