Implements US strategies and tactics in support of assigned compounds/indications in compliance with standards and policies


Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Conduct Health Economics and Outcomes Research projects under the supervision of the manager to support the Value Proposition to Payors, Patients and Prescribers
  • Applies extensive technical knowledge and experience to plan, execute, and interpret research and data collection activities. Actively participates in Asset Development Teams (clinical) and Global Brand Teams (commercial) as subject matter expert for tactical discussions. Monitors meetings for issues that should be addressed with manager. Must be able to influence activities in a matrix organization
  • Independently identifies appropriate internal and external data resources and external expertise to execute strategies and research activities led by HEOR
  • Executes HEOR clinical trial endpoint strategies (PRO, economic, treatment satisfaction, etc.) in collaboration with R&D. Assures alignment of research activities with Scientific Research Annual Plan; communicates any changes from plan in timely manner. Responsible for appropriate utilization of allocated project budgets
  • Develops and maintains effective cross-functional working relationships to assure effective teamwork with assigned teams
  • Develops and maintains relationships with external investigators as a means to improve the quality of their research. Monitors scientific, regulatory and reimbursement/access trends, events and policies for their potential to affect current research responsibilities. Assures compliance of HEOR studies with established research standards and principles

  • Independently identifies appropriate internal and external data resources and external expertise to execute strategies and research activities led by HEOR
  • Applies appropriate research methods to address evidence gaps
  • Executes HEOR clinical trial endpoint strategies (PRO, economic, patient experience, etc) in collaboration with clinical development and medical affairs. Assures alignment of research activiites with Scientific Research Annual Plan; communicates any changes from plan in a timely manner. Responsible for appropriate utilization and management of allocated project budgets
  • Develops and maintains effective cross-functional working relationships to ensure effective teamwork with assigned teams
  • Manages relationships with vendors and research partners to ensure timely completion of high quality research within budget
  • Communicates technical information to internal and external stakeholders
  • Develops and maintains relationships with external experts as a means to improve the quality of their research. Monitors scientific, regulatory, and reimbursement/access trends, events and policies for their potential to affect current research responsibilities. Assures compliance of HEOR studies with established research standards and principles.



Basic:
  • Masters degree/fellowship in health economics or related discipline, however PhD is preferred. 2-3 years experience with demonstrated high performance in the pharmaceutical industry, CRO, academia or other health related consulting company. Professional training in the health field (MD, PharmD, etc.) is a plus. Equivalent education and experience may be considered
  • Firmly grounded in the scientific fundamentals of one or more of the core HEOR specialties (epidemiology, biostatistics, patient reported outcomes, health services research, economics, clinical practice, behavioral science). Capable of performing health economic projects from inception through publication and application with minimal oversight
  • Ability to present complex scientific programs and data clearly to cross-functional audiences
