Join bluebird bio's enthusiastic and collaborative team by contributing to the overall success of our novel gene therapy approach. The focus of this position is to provide executive-level support to our Medical Affairs team.
About the role:

Executive level support includes, but is not limited to:
• Coordinates and manages executive calendars, schedule, travel arrangements (coordinate with corporate travel agent service), expense reports, and prepare requisite materials for Med Affairs team.
• Manages day to day activities in the Cambridge office, including planning and scheduling of business meetings, booking meeting rooms, conference calls and events; providing pre-read documents, distribute meeting materials and reference materials, meeting minutes and distribution.
• Exercises creativity, initiative and understanding of the business objectives, independently manages systems and applications to prepare communications, budgets or other data displays.
• Manage team building initiatives, team offsite planning.
• Create efficient office procedures, filing systems, reports and record keeping methods, as necessary.
• Work under pressure at times across a wide variety of activities. Work cross functionally with other departments.
• Researches, prioritizes and follows up on incoming issues addressed to the executive(s), determining appropriate course of action or response.

• Handles business transactions and expenses, including creating and submitting expense reports.
• Assists with conference planning and offsite meeting coordination.
• Provide a high level of confidentiality.
About you:
• Degree preferred and 6-8 years of experience supporting senior leaders, preferably in a Medical group
• Expert level of computer proficiency, i.e Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook skills
• Ability to multi-task, shift priorities and retain flexibility in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment
• Superb verbal and written communication skills
• Self-starter with the ability to operate independently
• Excellent organizational skills, sufficient to multi-task in an extremely fast-paced environment with changing priorities
• Independently motivated, detail oriented and good problem-solving ability
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment where results are achieved through influence and the incorporation of multiple points of view
