Aptose Biosciences is seeking a Research Associate.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, cell culture, experiment design and conduct, data analysis and troubleshooting, collaboration with other team members on different projects, daily laboratory operation management (e.g. equipment maintenance, and safety compliance). Responsible for MOA study design, conduct, data analysis, and troubleshooting.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Strong knowledge of cell and molecular biology with the emphasis on oncology and immunology. Must have BS degree with 3+ year of hands-on experience or MS/PhD degree with 1+ year of hands-on experience in cell culture, protein extraction, and Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, RNA/DNA isolation and RT-qPCR, ELISA, multi-color flow cytometry. Must have experience in xenograft study and skills in rodent handling and dosing. Must have working experience in fast paced environment. Should be self-motivated, efficient, well-organized, detail-oriented, and be proficient in communication and record keeping.
Experiences in drug MOA study and biomarker discovery are preferred. Skills in mononuclear cell isolation from human blood and bone marrow, including positive/negative cell selection by magnetic beads are a plus.
