Summary: Acts as a liaison between Facilities Engineering and Information Technology (IT) to design, develop and implement complex facilities renovation or relocation construction projects of data centers, LAN closets and server rooms. Provides technical support and subject matter expertise to IT stakeholders, equipment installers and maintenance providers on Computer Room AC (CRAC), Uninterrupted Power Supplies (UPS), emergency generators, power distribution units (PDU's), Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS's) and related mechanical / electrical / Plumbing (M/E/P) equipment.

Essential Duties, Skills and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Manage cost, schedule, and scope of facilities related projects including renovations, new equipment installs, and new construction;
o Manage design and installation of CRAC, UPS, emergency generators, PDUs, ATS, and related equipment supporting the Regeneron data centers, LAN closets, and server rooms.
o Provide physical data center room layout, rack plan, design and installation of related M/E/P equipment:
• - HVAC.
• - UPS power.
• - Physical security and fire suppression systems.
o Manage structured cabling design and implementation, including creation of structured cabling pull lists, patching schedules and patching documentation.

• Estimate cost of projects, write contracts and specifications for labor materials, and equipment for construction projects, and secures bids from contractors.

• Evaluate and make recommendations concerning changes in contract documents and ensures that authorized changes are implemented, in accordance with federal, state, and local building codes.

• Consult with architects, engineers, owners, and contractors regarding preliminary layout, construction procedures, and code requirements that apply to building projects.

• Conduct preliminary surveys, prepare schematics and work drawings for the construction and maintenance of new or remodeled facilities.

• Act as a liaison and manage communications with other departments to minimize risk and impact to existing and ongoing operations. This will include:
o Compile required documents for seamless turnover of new or renovated space/equipment to area managers and facilities for maintenance.
o Support equipment qualification efforts an executes new equipment commissioning.
o Enter data for new area/equipment into existing quality systems and databases as needed.
o Coordinates any necessary specialized training for new systems and equipment.

• Complete complex analysis and determines project feasibility and design requirements.
o Inspect existing facilities to ascertain their condition.
o Prepare reports depicting the condition, deficiencies observed, designs necessary for repairs, and estimated cost of repairs.
o Design, prepares, and/or reviews plans of construction projects.

• May oversee work of junior level engineers and others, including contractors.

• Ability to maintain documents, records, and prepare reports and correspondence related to the work.

• Able to communicate and interact with front line personnel as well as senior leadership.

• Able to communicate proactively and is able to remain objective when addressing potentially controversial issues.

• Knowledge of industry practices and regulations (e.g GxP, ISO, ICH, etc.).
Education and Experience:

• This position requires a minimum of a BS degree in a relevant engineering discipline along with minimum 5 years of relevant experience or MS degree with 4 years of relevant experience.
