Cell Therapy Development


B.S. or M.S. in Biology, Immunology Biochemical or Biomedical Engineering or related discipline with relevant experience


Independently design, perform and interpret complex experiments to support analytical method development and characterization. Leads and advances analytical projects from Analytical R&D to Quality Operations. Collaborates with analytical development scientists focused on analytical assay qualification and validation, participate in analytical transfers, troubleshoot issues, and support GMP manufacturing activities. Guide analytical team members on strategic direction for method development experiments and communicate with external collaborators.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Independently design and execute/implement complex cellular analytical development and optimization studies
  • Organize and analyze data, prepare protocols and reports
  • Prioritize scientific and organizational responsibilities
  • Maintain proficiency in analytical skills, statistical analysis, and effective presentation of analysis
  • Solve problems that arise, including those in larger teams and analytical assay transfers
  • Collaborate with statisticians to design experiments and interpret data
  • Present research findings to other groups and provide broader scientific guidance
  • Document experimental results in peer-reviewed reports
  • Transfer analytical methods between internal and external partners
  • Define/maintain a safe work environment in accordance with policies/procedures/regulations

Skills/Knowledge Required:
  • B.S. in Biology, Immunology Biochemical or Biomedical Engineering related discipline with 5 - 8 years of relevant experience or M.S. with 4-9 years of relevant experience
  • Creativity to develop and characterize analytical assays for autologous cell-based therapies
  • Experience in flow cytometry, cell culture, ELISA and functional cellular assays
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Highly motivated, willingness to acquire new skills and ability to work without supervision
  • Strong analytical and scientific knowledge appropriate for cell therapy development
  • Ability to assess risk and develop contingency plans for analytical risks
  • Experience working in a regulated environment and preparing regulatory documents
  • Interpersonal and leadership skills to work with teams in different functions and organizations
