CONTRACTS MANAGER

Position Summary:

The Contracts Manager will be primarily responsible for managing all aspects of contracting activities at GBT.  This position will also draft, review, negotiate and finalize standard contracts and contract amendments in consultation with the Vice President, Corporate Law.  This position will report to the Vice President, Corporate Law.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of contracting activities at GBT using iContract, the Company’s recently launched online contract management system
  • Lead the day-to-day management of iContract and contracting processes
  • Become the Legal Department “expert” in iContract and serve as the contracts administrator in the system
  • Provide support cross-functionally and within the Legal Department
  • Serve as first point of contact for internal and external contract process questions
  • Prepare required iContract reports on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis
  • Utilize, maintain and update all GBT contract templates
  • Manage Velocity, GBT’s third-party iContract support vendor
  • Work in collaboration with cross-functional teams and external contract vendors to ensure timely contract renewals
  • Identify contract process issues, including with iContract, propose solutions and implement process improvements
  • In consultation with the VP, Corporate Law, draft, review, negotiate and finalize contracts and amendments as requested

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience, preferably in biotechnology or life sciences companies, managing, creating, negotiating and executing contracts
  • Experience with iContract or other online contract management system preferred but not required (training will be provided)
  • Must be highly organized
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to take initiative, be accountable, make good decisions, demonstrate good judgment and be a pragmatic problem solver
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Project and Adobe Acrobat Professional
