Manufacturing and R&D equipment and processes require a high degree of specialized attention around the clock. The primary objective is to maximize efficiency and prevent any interruption of production by achieving control over the systems the manufacturing cycle depends on. Primarily these systems include facility, equipment, utility, and controls. These systems are maintained and continually improved by Engineer Technician. They also contribute to the efficiencies of processes for their areas of assignment.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Works under general direction of supervisor or technical lead on assignments.
  • Assignments have clear and specified objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables. Examples of supporting assignments include: assist with scheduling equipment calibration, managing pickup and deliveries of customers instruments, equipment or process design and development, support validation of equipment, materials and processes, preparation of specifications.
  • Identify and evaluate problematic issues and help implement and communicate solutions.
  • Assist operations in the process of troubleshooting to determine potential impacts on production and facility systems.
  • Assist in gathering system information and specifications for production, engineering groups and outside consultants, contractors, and various departments within the company.
  • Participate and/or assist engineers in the design of process equipment or systems for optimal performance. Assist in the start-up of new and troubleshoot existing facilities/equipment to ensure optimal operation and performance.
  • Identify and help implement improvements in processes, equipment or work processes.
  • Closely monitor systems as assigned for potential issues and/or improvements.


Basic:
  • High School/GED is required AND at least 3 years prior technical experience in area(s) of specialty.
  • Technical training completion/certification or associates degree may substitute for up to 2 years of required experience.
  • Knowledge of basic regulatory requirements.
  • Communication Skills - Ability to concisely communicate key issues to stakeholders.
  • Analytical Skills - Ability to assess issues that arise, seek multiple perspectives, gather more information as needed, and identify key issues that need to be addressed.
  • Computer Literacy - Basic competence of spreadsheets, word processing and email, and knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems and purchasing systems.
