This is an entry level associate position. Bioanalytical Associates at this level are required to closely follow instructions regarding the execution of experiments. They are expected to have a basic understanding of general laboratory techniques, such as pipetting and making solutions, in addition to limited experience performing immunoassays. All work is conducted under direct supervision. The associate has minimal decision making capability and requires direct supervision on work assigned. Possesses a knowledge of the basic principles of ELISA obtained through academic training or relevant industry experience.

  • Trains on manual bioanalytical methods under direct supervision.
  • Performs sample analysis for preclinical toxicology and pharmacokinetic studies under direct supervision.
  • Performs a limited number of assays and plates within the same day.
  • Interprets data (with the help of a supervisor as needed) in order to assess plate acceptance criteria and determine appropriate sample dilutions. Reports to supervisor any assay-related failures that may have occurred.
  • Executes basic operations in LIMS (requesting samples, building analysis plates, tracking sample movement and data entry). Exports and presents data to supervisor for review. Utilizes the ELN for data documentation purposes.
  • Maintains GLP documentation for all laboratory work in accordance with FDA regulations and company SOPs.
  • Involved in the preparation of reagents and buffers for use within the group. Assists in maintaining GLP compliance in the laboratory.
  • Re-orders laboratory supplies and reagents when needed.
  • Effectively operates a range of laboratory instrumentation.
  • May perform instrument verifications and/or maintenance if required.
  • Maintains cleanliness of individual and communal work areas.
  • Learns and complies with safety requirements of his/her laboratory. Recognizes potential safety problems and takes action to correct them.
  • Capable of managing time effectively.
  • Requires the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Communicates with supervisor as well as other analysts within the group.

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in biology or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of post-degree laboratory experience necessary.
  • Familiarity with LIMS, ELN, GLPs a plus
