At Abbvie Immunology, we focus on investigating novel solutions to help improve patient care across a variety of autoimmune and chronic inflammatory diseases with unmet needs. We are seeking a highly motivated scientist to join AbbVie's expanding Immunology Antibody Drug Candidate (iADC) team. The successful candidate will participate in discovering, evaluating and advancing iADC leads through preclinical testing and proof of concept studies. The successful candidate should have a strong background in immunology with in-depth scientific knowledge of fibroblast biology and the role of these stromal cells in immunologic diseases. This position offers a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team utilizing cutting edge technology to deliver transformation therapies to improve the lives of patients with immunologic diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn's disease and scleroderma. The successful candidate will direct and design in vitro and in vivo assays to evaluate lead ADCs with the goal of identifying lead candidates.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Design and develop well controlled in vitro assays to evaluate lead ADCs
  • Coordination of in vivo characterization of ADC candidates
  • Routinely demonstrate scientific initiative and creativity in research activities
  • Critically evaluate data and make recommendations on path forward for ADC projects
  • Analysis and presentation of data in team meetings and project review meetings

Position will be hired based on level of experience,

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Immunology or cell biology with a research background in fibroblast biology with at least 12-14+ (BS), 10-12+ (MS), or 4-6+ years of postdoctoral experience. I ndustry experience preferred.
  • In depth knowledge of immunology and immunologic diseases
  • Experience with culturing and manipulating fibroblast cells
  • Experience with isolating immune cells and stromal cells from blood and tissue
  • Knowledge of immune disease in vivo model systems for RA and colitis
