The Potency Assay team at Seattle Genetics is seeking a Research Associate I/II to contribute to the development and performance of various assays for evaluating the potency and other functional properties of antibodies and antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). Potency Assay team members play an integral role in progressing novel oncology drugs into clinical trials and subsequent commercial availability. We are seeking an individual who has experience with plate-based assays, mammalian cell culture techniques, assay development, and routine sample testing. Candidates should also demonstrate knowledge of cellular and molecular biology, be able to learn quickly, and be a clear and effective communicator in a project-based collaborative environment.

  • Perform ELISA, cell-binding, cytotoxicity, and other cell-based assays in multi-well plate formats
  • Perform routine cell culture and cell banking using a variety of techniques and vessels
  • Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot potency assay methods
  • Transfer methods to Quality Control and train new analysts
  • Perform cellular engineering and molecular biology
  • Generate high quality data, documentation, and written technical reports
  • Be an active, collaborative team member in the Potency Assay group

  • B.S. or B.A. with 0-3 years of laboratory experience
  • Experience with ELISA and other multi-well plate assay formats
  • Experience with cell culture and routine laboratory activities
  • Proficiency in using multi-channel pipettes, multi-well plates, and automated liquid handlers
  • Excellent time management and documentation skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
