Job Description:
The Production Flow Cytometry team is seeking a Research Associate to contribute to the high-throughput processing of patient samples through flow cytometric cell sorters for advanced research projects. The candidate will analyze peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) samples to isolate and sort immune cell subsets in a biosafety level 2 environment. This individual will be a part of a growing and multidisciplinary scientific team. 

Responsibilities: 
• Process human samples and execute flow cytometry and cell sorting protocols in a robust and consistent manner 
• Perform and document routine and periodic instrument maintenance 
• Support and maintain research inventory, calibrate instruments, and perform purchasing, record-keeping, and related administrative tasks 

Must Have Qualifications: 
• BA/BS degree in biology, immunology, or related field, or equivalent experience. 
• Experience working with primary human blood samples in a biosafety environment 
• Enthusiasm, independence, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment 


Qualifications: 
• Experience with sample preparation for flow cytometry (preferred)
• Experience with flow cytometer operation (preferred)
• Experience with cell sorting (FACS) 
• 2+ years experience working in an immunology laboratory or cytometry core facility 
• Understanding of cytometry validation methods and metrics 
• Experience with cytometry analysis 
• Experience working in quality controlled environments (GCLP, CLIA, GMP, GCP etc.)

Additional Details:

  • Candidates with experience working with blood or serum will be considered
  • Candidates with theoretical understanding of Flow Cytometry will be considered  

Education:

BS/MS with 1-5 years of experience
