Announcement for Project Manager Position with Black Diamond Therapeutics, Inc

Black Diamond Therapeutics Inc is a leading venture-backed biotechnology company focused on the discovery and development of precision medicines for cancer that are directed against a novel class of allosteric mutant oncogenes. 

Black Diamond seeks an experienced Project Manager (PM) to coordinate corporate planning with the CEO and to manage 2-3 oncology early development programs with the EVP Discovery & Translational Sciences.  This person will work spend roughly 50% of their time collaboratively with the CEO and executive team and 50% of their time coordinating efforts among the Black Diamond discovery group and external CROs to ensure project goals and milestones are achieved.  The position is full time and to be located in New York City.

Main Duties and Responsibilities 

As a PM, you will work with the executive and leadership team to translate strategy into project plans and deliverables. You will bring lessons learned from other projects to effectively drive our project and business strategies. 

Additionally as PM, you will monitor financial status; assist in driving decision-making within a cross-team global structure, including prioritization discussions regarding programs and spend. You will enable timely updates to the CEO and the leadership team as the company transitions from Discovery to Development and will play a critical role in ensuring that accurate financial plans are generated as the company achieves its financing objectives.  You will challenge team and functional representatives on project assumptions relating to time, cost, resources and contingencies. You will maintain plans for major program and corporate initiatives. As PM you will proactively take initiative to address issues impacting team efficiency; creating process designs to streamline and simplify processes. 

Essential Requirements 

  • PhD (ideal), minimum BA/BS, ideally in science or medical field
  • 5 - 7+ years’ pharmaceutical/biologics industry experience
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex cross-matrix, multi-year projects
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Proficient in all Microsoft applications

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in small molecule drug discovery
  • Oncology therapeutics experience
  • Experience with start-up biotech is a plus
