Position Summary

Summary: Responsible for the organization and oversight of daily operations of the department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Oversee the group in collaborative studies.

• Improve manufacturing techniques by implementing new processes.

• Supervise procedures and experiments.

• Perform personnel management.

• Select methods and techniques for obtaining good scientific results.

• Conduct data analysis.

• Schedule tasks for the department.

• Participate in document writing.

• Present experimental results at department meetings.

• Ensure safety standards are maintained.

• Establish and Maintain cGMP activities.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Capture and polish chromatography for monoclonal antibody purification

• Tangential flow and virus retentive filtration theory and practice

• Design of experiments

• Familiarity with regulatory guidance on process validation and controls of critical steps and intermediates

• Writing regulatory submissions

• Ability to communicate appropriately with regulatory authorities

• Ability to maintain integrity and honesty at all times

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team

• Ability to communicate with transparency

• Continuously drive to improve processes for improved performance

• Demonstrate respectful behavior at all times

• Ability to lead and be accountable for team's performance and results

• Manage internal and external relationships

• Develop strategy and create metrics to measure effectiveness of strategy

Education and Experience:

• Requires a BS/BA in Life Sciences, Biological Sciences or related field with 5+ years of relevant scientific industry experience or MS in Life Sciences, Biological Sciences or related field with 4 years of relevant scientific industry experience or a PhD with 2 years of relevant scientific industry experience. Previous supervisory and/or leadership experience required.

Level of title will be commensurate with experience.
