Summary: We are seeking a scientist with Ph.D. degree to support early phase analytical method development and CMC activities in the QC Analytical Sciences group of Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc, located in Rensselaer, NY.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Able to independently design, conduct, interpret and optimize experimental studies.

• Establish, develop, and/or optimize analytical methodology to test the identity, strength, purity, potency and stability of protein products and product- and process-related impurities.

• Transfer new or improved bioanalytical methods to internal and external groups.

• Lead troubleshooting activities for established test methods used in development and release testing.

• Lead or participate in general lab and instrument maintenance.

• Effectively communicate ideas and findings to peers and senior management via written documents and oral presentations.

• Design, write, and review protocols and summary reports for assay qualification/validation studies.

• Write and revise standard operating procedures based on method development outcomes.

• Author and review CMC sections of regulatory and technical documents, technical reports and technology transfer documents.

• Evaluate and make recommendations on new instrumentation and technology.

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional team members and serve as a point-person for development and implementation of new technology platforms.

• Perform personnel management functions including employee development, employee evaluations, time sheet approvals, and scheduling of time off.

• Willing to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and be capable of handling multiple tasks while meeting timelines and adapting to changing priorities.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert in biochemical analytical methodology (e.g. sample preparation, DNA isolation and quantitation, ELISA and others).A focus on quality in a GMP environment, with the ability to develop, optimize, apply and troubleshoot analytical test procedures is a must.

Education and Experience:

• Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Science (or related discipline) is required; cGMP experience is desirable.

• Hands-on experience and trouble-shooting proficiency with applying chromatographic (HPLC, UPLC, column chromatography) methods, biophysical techniques (UV-vis, DLS, CD, FTIR, DSC, AUC, Fluorescence, Raman spectroscopy, particle analysis, etc.) for protein characterization are plus.
