The ED of Global Medical Affairs (GMA) leads the headquarters-based medical affairs functions in support of Seattle Genetics' products in the US, Europe and globally. This role will report directly to the SVP, Development and Medical Affairs and has direct responsibility for all medical affairs strategies, activities and personnel in the GMA department.

Helping define and execute the corporate strategy necessary to support both the scientific and commercial vision for oncology products at Seattle Genetics, the ED Global Medical Affairs is responsible for:
  • Oversight of the development of GMA strategies for each product to ensure that the life cycle management strategy is clearly defined and consistent with the clinical development and strategic objectives for each product. In this capacity, the role will oversee multiple GMA Medical Directors who function as the product-specific GMA leaders and subject matter experts.
  • Oversight of the management of Seattle Genetics Scientific Services team of Medical Information, Medical Communication, Medical Education and Learning and Development to ensure the highest quality of scientific support and compliance standards are met.
  • Oversight of the GMA Project Management team to ensure GMA strategic plans are developed and executed against effectively.
  • Responsibility and accountability for the long range planning, budgeting and forecasting for GMA and North America Field Medical teams
  • Work collaboratively with the Head of Medical Affairs, Europe to ensure consistency with GMA strategic plans.
  • Work collaboratively with the Head of North American Field Medical to ensure consistency with GMA strategic plans.

This highly influential and communicative role will work across the Research, Clinical Development and Commercial organizations, building a strong link between clinical development and commercial operations. The ED, Global Medical Affairs will also work effectively with leadership at Seattle Genetics' partner companies, Takeda, Genmab and Astellas, to ensure alignment of the global medical affairs strategies across all major markets.
