Job Description

The project manager is responsible for management of discovery and development projects. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Plan and manage project activities and provide support to the project team to meet timeline, quality, and budgetary goals
  • Create and maintain project plans, timelines, agendas, budgets, resourcing requirements, rolling summaries and other tools required to facilitate planning and coordination of deliverables for multiple R&D projects
  • Coordinate and facilitate communication among internal and external members of a team on a project to ensure effective, accurate and timely collaboration across functional areas and serve as a primary point of contact. Coordinate activities in writing of reports or presentations.
  • Develop tracking tools and monitor key deliverables and project dossier. Manage and maintain databases/servers for effective utilization of data
  • Assess project issues and develop solutions to meet productivity and quality goals. Develop tools and mechanisms for monitoring progress and problem solving with line managers. Facilitate standardization and coordination across various science disciplines

Requirements

  • PhD or MS with 5+ year of project management experience in the pharmaceutical industry; working experience in drug discovery and development
  • Deep understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards of pharmaceutical project management with experience from early development through IND stages
  • Strong preference for candidates with experience in small molecule therapeutics and/or CNS targets
  • Core competencies:
  • Action oriented, detail oriented and highly organized
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with team members with tact and diplomacy
  • Ability to prioritize using excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in relevant software: FastTrack Schedule or MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc. in addition to general knowledge with shared work environments
  • Self-driven and able to work independently
