Eurofins DiscoverX Corporation is searching for a Cell Service Scientist in Fremont, CA. The successful candidate for the Scientist position will join the Profiling and Cell Services team with a multifaceted approach for providing high value services based on the DiscoverX PathHunter platform and other proprietary technologies.

Cell Services Scientist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

•    Responsible for scale-up and tech transfer of new bioassay cell lines from R&D to Cell Services
•    Working closely with R&D to ensure smooth, efficient and the successful execution of product transfer to Cell Services
•    Optimization of process improvement to increase pass rate, efficiency, and implementing process changes
•    Culturing and expansion of clonal cell line, assay ready, and bioassay cells following detailed SOPs
•    Troubleshooting issues related to product and scale up performance
•    Optimization of cell freezing process using Controlled Rate Freezer
•    Implementation of operating plans and strategies to improved TAT and on-time delivery
•    Prepare protocols or reports for prospective new process/equipment for validation and qualification actives
•    Prepare reagents and cell culture media using aseptic technique
•    Qualification of cell products for assay performance and purity
•    Maintain laboratory equipment, reagent inventories, and laboratory notebooks
•    Revise or generate new SOPs as needed
•    Other duties as required and assigned
•    Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
•    Regular attendance and punctuality
•    Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate
•    Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner
•    Owns the accountability and responsibility of delivering to client needs and timeliness
•    Provides cross-functional support to other departments as required
•    Adjusts work hours as needed to meet client deadlines
•    Adheres to site employee health and safety (EHS) requirements

The ideal candidate would possess:

•    Experience in culturing mammalian cells is preferred
•    Experience in process, assay improvement or Technical Transfer is a plus
•    Knowledge using GraphPad Prism, Excel, PowerPoint or other programs for laboratory sample and reagent management is a plus
•    Experience in cryopreservation of mammalian cells is preferable
•    Experience plating into 96- and/or 384-well plates using an automated liquid dispenser is desirable
•    Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
•    Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
•    Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
•    Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

•    B.S. or Masters in a relevant life sciences with at least 5 years of cell-based cell production in an industry which includes expertise in culturing various cell lines
•    Hands on experience with cell culture and aseptic technique is required
•    Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Fremont, CA are encouraged to apply.
