Biologics Compound Management Team Leader

Job Description:

We are seeking a detailed-oriented, logistics-focused team leader to help design, build and lead a new biologics compound management function. You will assist the creation of the processes and practices necessary for the registration, quality determination, storage, physical control and distribution of biologics throughout our site. You and your team will then implement and run these processes. In addition, you will become our site's biological safety officer.

Specific Responsibilities:
- Map the site's processes and determine the flow of biologics to and from the groups within BDC
- Work with these groups to determine the appropriate methods, containers, concentrations, volumes, and conditions for the transfer of these materials
- Design, and with your team, build and implement aliquoting procedures, storage conditions and control practices for these materials
- With your team, assist in the implementation of an inventory system
- In collaboration with all relevant groups within BDC, develop quality control standards and assays for the biologics. You and your group will then implement these assays and maintain these standards
-Through your role as the site's biological safety officer, you will help set and maintain the safety and sterility requirements for the site's drug discovery operations.

Requirements:

- Masters or PhD in biology or related field with 5 - 10 years of professional experience in compound management
- Proven ability to map and characterize processes a must
- Experience in the handling and basic characterization of biologics (mass spectrometry, SEC, light scattering, endotoxin measurements, etc.)
- Experience performing and supervising mycoplasma and other sterility indicating assays
- Strong knowledge of antibody discovery, small scale production and purification and screening
- Proven ability to lead compound management projects as well as a small team of fellow compound management scientists
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
