Summary:  This position will assist in lab experiments aimed toward the development of a continuous glucose monitor and includes testing related to clinical trials for both the development of blood samples for analysis and product testing in clinical settings. This position receives direction from Lab Supervisor or from Lab Leader.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Assist with blood sample preparation and measurement
  • Assist with measurement, calibration, troubleshooting and quality control of laboratory and analytical equipment (e.g. YSI biochemical analyzer, FTIR, centrifuge, LDX, and other clinical reference instruments)
  • Maintain and control the lab inventory of samples, chemicals, laboratory materials and equipment
  • Assist in data entry and in monitoring and tracking clinical data
  • Support company goals and objectives, policies and procedures, Quality System Regulation, and FDA/MDD regulations.
    • Ability to work in Biohazard lab environment
  • This position requires hands-on responsibilities in performing experiments, sample preparation, the control and tracking of data and documentation, maintenance and calibration of equipment, data analysis and troubleshooting.

    • Make quantitative solutions for testing, including solutions made with whole blood or plasma.

Knowledge, Skill and Competency Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of hands-on lab experience in GLP, GCP analytical environment preferred
  • Excellent analytical laboratory skills
  • Basic chemistry lab skills - pipetting, weighing, solutions, volumetric techniques
  • Spectroscopy (FTIR)
  • Familiarity with blood glucose measurements, standard blood chemistry measurements (lipids, Hct)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, A+ for knowledge of Matlab and statistic application
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work quickly and with a wide variety of individuals, as a team member, and to juggle more than one task at a time
  • Flexibility
  • Ability to work in Biohazard lab environments
  • Knowledge of FDA Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Laboratory Practices, ISO 13485-2003

Education/Experience:

Bachelor degree (B. S.) in Science or 1-2 years of laboratory experience.
